Apple’s Foldable iPhone Set for 2026 Launch with Samsung Display as Exclusive OLED Panel Supplier

Apple’s Foldable iPhone Set for 2026 Launch with Samsung Display as Exclusive OLED Panel Supplier

Apple is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated foldable iPhone in the second half of 2026, according to a recent BusinessKorea report. The tech giant’s entry into the foldable smartphone market will feature cutting-edge OLED panels exclusively supplied by Samsung Display, marking a strategic collaboration between two of the industry’s biggest players.

The first-generation foldable iPhone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch inner screen, offering a tablet-like experience in a compact form. Samsung has reportedly succeeded in minimizing the crease on the foldable display, which played a key role in Apple’s decision to bypass competitors like LG Display and BOE (Jingdongfang).

Production of the foldable OLED screens is expected to begin by late 2025 or early 2026, with Apple planning to manufacture up to 15 million units, a significant increase from earlier projections.

A standout feature of the foldable iPhone is its rumored 4:3 aspect ratio, similar to the iPad Air and iPad Pro models. This move could ensure better software compatibility and a smoother user experience for iOS applications on the foldable display.

In terms of pricing, the foldable iPhone is likely to surpass even the iPhone 16 Pro Max, with analysts estimating a price tag of around $2,300 (roughly Rs. 1,97,000). Previous leaks suggested a range between $2,000 to $2,500, positioning it among the most expensive smartphones in the market.

Apple’s foldable will face stiff competition from existing players such as Samsung, Oppo, OnePlus, Huawei, Vivo, and Honor, who have already established themselves in the foldable phone segment.

As anticipation builds, Apple fans and tech enthusiasts alike are eager to see how the Cupertino-based company will reshape the foldable phone landscape in 2026.
