The next big foldable from Honor is on its way. Leaks from multiple Weibo tipsters including Smart Pikachu, Guan, and Panda is Very Bald suggest that the highly anticipated Honor Magic V5 will launch in China by the end of June 2025. The upcoming foldable phone is said to be the successor to the Magic V3, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most powerful and feature-packed foldables to date.
Honor Magic V5: Biggest Battery Ever in a Foldable?
According to the latest leaks, the Honor Magic V5 may feature a 6,100mAh battery, making it potentially the largest battery ever in a foldable smartphone. This would surpass the rumored 6,000mAh battery of the Vivo X Fold 5, positioning the Magic V5 as a serious competitor in battery performance. An alleged 3C certification listing also reveals support for 66W wired fast charging.
Display and Performance
The foldable is tipped to sport an 8-inch 2K inner LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, alongside a 6.45-inch OLED cover screen. Under the hood, the phone will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and run on Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0, ensuring top-tier performance and smooth multitasking.
Camera and Build
On the imaging front, the Honor Magic V5 is expected to include a 50MP main rear camera with OIS support, an ultra-wide sensor, and a 200MP periscope telephoto camera—a setup aimed at photography enthusiasts. The phone may also come with an IPX8 rating for water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a thin, lightweight foldable design, as teased earlier by Honor executive Li Kun.
Additional Products Expected at Launch
The Magic V5 is rumored to debut alongside other new Honor products, including the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, Honor earphones, and possibly new Honor tablets, making the June launch a major event for the company.
