Samsung Galaxy A56 5G users are facing major usability issues following the recent One UI 7 update, which was expected to enhance functionality with the integration of Google’s Gemini AI assistant.
Samsung’s Android 15-based One UI 7 update, carrying the build number A566BXXU3AYDK, was rolled out earlier this month for the Galaxy A56 5G. One of the highlight features was the new Gemini AI assistant access, allowing users to summon the assistant by pressing and holding the side button instead of the traditional swipe gesture. This update aimed to improve AI assistant accessibility and productivity for users.

However, shortly after the update, reports of bootloop issues began flooding the Samsung community forum. Affected users shared that their Galaxy A56 5G devices were getting stuck on the boot screen with rotating gears, rendering the phone unusable. Standard troubleshooting methods like soft reset and attempts to enter the recovery menu failed, leaving users frustrated.
Temporary Fix: Remove SIM Card Tray or Bypass eSIM Prompt
A workaround was discovered and shared on the forum. Removing the SIM card tray and then restarting the device appears to bring it back to a functional state. For eSIM users, simply skipping the SIM password prompt during boot can help restore normal function. Importantly, this is not a permanent fix, and users are still waiting for an official resolution from Samsung.
Despite the new features, the One UI 7 update has inadvertently caused a setback for many Samsung Galaxy A56 5G users. Samsung has not yet released a patch or official statement addressing the bootloop concerns.
What’s New in One UI 7?
Besides Gemini AI assistant integration, the One UI 7 update offers customizable digital assistant access via the side button and improvements in system performance. Users can personalize this feature in Settings, switching back to previous behaviors if desired.
As of now, Samsung users are advised to delay the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A56 5G until a stable version is released or an official fix is issued.
