Sony is reportedly preparing to release the Xperia 1 VII as the successor to the Xperia 1 VI, following its launch in May 2024. Leaked images have surfaced on Taiwan’s NCC website, revealing the design and colourways of the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 VII. The model number XQ-FSxx is associated with this new device, showing it will feature a triple rear camera setup and a headphone jack.
The Sony Xperia 1 VII will be available in black, navy green, and purple, which marks a slight shift from the Xperia 1 VI’s colours, including black, platinum silver, and khaki green. Despite the change in colour options, the overall design of the new phone seems to be similar to its predecessor, with vertical camera sensors on the rear panel.

One of the notable updates includes the Exmor-T sensor on the main camera, positioned at the center of the rear camera array. This could enhance the photography capabilities of the device, especially for users looking to capture detailed shots with Sony’s signature camera technology.
In terms of size, the Xperia 1 VII will measure 165mm tall and 74mm wide, making it slightly longer than the Xperia 1 VI (162mm tall, 74mm wide). While both models will feature a 6.5-inch screen with large bezels, the Xperia 1 VII is expected to be the first Sony smartphone to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising improved performance over the previous generation.
Pricing details are still under wraps, but the Xperia 1 VI started at EUR 1,299 (around Rs. 1,17,400) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The Xperia 1 VI boasts a 48MP Sony Exmor T sensor, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, and a 12MP zoom camera, along with a 12MP front camera. The phone also features a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support, ensuring long-lasting performance.
